CBCS (Choice-Based Credit System)
An academic structure that lets students choose from core, elective and skill-based courses, each carrying defined credit weightage.
The Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) allows students to choose courses from a mix of core, elective, and skill-enhancement categories, each assigned a specific credit value, rather than following one fixed syllabus. Academic ERP modules need to model courses, electives and credit accumulation flexibly to support CBCS and the broader multidisciplinary structures introduced under NEP 2020.
