OBE (Outcome-Based Education)

An educational model that defines and measures learning in terms of specific outcomes students must demonstrate, rather than hours taught.

Outcome-Based Education (OBE) structures curriculum design around clearly defined outcomes — what a student should know or be able to do by the end of a course or programme — rather than around content coverage alone. NBA accreditation is built entirely around OBE principles, requiring institutions to map and measure Course Outcomes (CO), Programme Outcomes (PO) and Programme-Specific Outcomes (PSO).
